Asian Restaurant Philadelphia

Centered around a ten-and-a-half foot gold gilded Buddha, Buddakan serves family-style Modern Asian cuisine. Imaginative dishes like edamame ravioli, Asian barbecue pork and lobster fried rice have made this a must-stop spot on any visit to Philly.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Definitely on the pricey side so special occasions or 1%ers paradise only really ha. However the food is always super fresh and seemingly made for our table specifically. The wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you have a chance, try the Japanese Kobe beef platter. The meat melts in your mouth. Also the calamari salad, the only calamari I ever will eat. Never any mystery bits.

Wife and I closed out Center City Restaurant Week on a Friday night. She had the ginger & chicken dumplings (steamed to perfection), pork tenderloin (best she’s ever had, and she loves pork tenderloin), and frozen peach dessert. I opted for the chicken & shrimp egg rolls (standard but tasty fried egg rolls – horseradish mustard was awesome), Chilean sea bass (never had it before and absolutely loved the buttery decadence), and crying chocolate dessert (since I’ve had the dim sum donuts before – definitely wasn’t disappointed). An amazing date night with attentive service and fun fellow customers. Highly recommend!

I still love this place

I’ve been a fan of this place for years. Everything they serve is absolutely delicious and they never disappoint. The siignature drinks are creative and delish. I had my bachelorette dinner here some years back and there was a mishap with the one of the guests and her getting sick. All of the staff was unbelievably accommodating and gracious, kudos to them.
