American Restaurant and Cafe Philadelphia

Aimee Olexy and Stephen Starr are proud to introduce The Love to their hometown of Philadelphia. This bilevel sanctuary features 100 seats, split between the main dining area, outdoor seating and an upper-level loft with a 20-person communal table. The restaurant is a spirited and carefree neighborhood café celebrating everyday American cuisine. Chef Joshua Tomaszewski, a Pennsylvania native, is cooking in the moment, crafting a menu around what’s truly seasonal and local, while Olexy’s beverage program reflects the best of the region. This creative energy is matched by a front-of-house service staff passionate about providing homey hospitality morning, noon and night.

Fantastic beyond words. We were looking for a restaurant (no reservations) for 40 min and Vernick’s recommended The Love (sister restaurant). When we spoke with the host (Michelle) she said there were no spots. We left and a few minutes later Michelle is behind us (on the street!) calling us to sit us down.

Curry Pumpkin soup is to DIE for and trout is phenomenal. The ambiance is hip, music is not too loud, attractive, well-dressed, young people all around, and if you leave for the restroom they come and re-fold your napkin!

Went last night for dinner and was really impressed! The drinks we ordered were really good and the food was delicious. The dishes were the perfect size and didn’t feel overwhelming. Upscale but comfortable atmosphere.

Beautiful ambiance attentive staff, and amazingly delicious food. They even took us 45 mins before our reservation (weekday). Highly recommend the labor of love, ricotta ravioli, lovebird (chicken, which could be for 2 people), salted chocolate slice (very delectable – a must share), and Moroccan chai tea. Mmm mmm good!
