Tea Room and Restaurant London

Sanderson invites you to tumble down the rabbit hole and discover a tea party beyond your wildest imagination. Expect to be reminded of familiar characters and recall childhood tales along the way. Discover menus hidden inside vintage books, teapots adorned with kings and queens and sandwich plates decorated with zebras, birdcages and ticking clocks.

Our Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea has had a suitably whimsical refresh with new sweet and savory dishes to delight your senses. Starting with delicious savory bites on offer from smoked salmon quails egg with caviar and cream cheese to melt-in-your-mouth King of Hearts parmesan croque-monsieur stack, along with afternoon tea classics with a twist before moving onto the main event.

The ending is as divine as the start. Come face to face with Tweedle Dee’s lemon curd financier before enjoying the mocha chessboard gateau and with the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon, there’s no excuse to be late for this important date! Wash everything down with Alice’s cinnamon, apple, and peach “Drink Me” potion and for the afternoon tea traditionalists, finish up with warm scones, clotted cream, and fruit preserve.

Our Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea is perfectly paired with Alice-inspired tea infusions that are full of flavor and sure to make your experience down the rabbit hole-one that you will never forget. Accompaniments to the sweet and savory treats include “Alice” China black tea, infused with hints of blackcurrant, vanilla, caramel, citrus, bergamot, blue cornflowers and blue mallow flowers. These are also available to purchase to take away at £12 each.

Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea is served daily and is priced from £48 per person and £35 per child (for children 4-11 years old). On celebratory days and bank holidays, Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea is priced from £58 per person for special packages…

Customer Ratings

Attention to detail is given a new definition to this wonderful establishment. There is so much to feast your eyes on, the food/drink becomes irrelevant. I only stopped for a coffee and found it to be slightly overpriced. The service, however, was attentive. Enjoy the beauty of this place. It is truly a gem.

Fantastic afternoon tea!! We went as part of my Hen day and really enjoyed the experience. Make sure you allow plenty of time for your visit as we were there nearly 2 hours. The only let down for us was that their lactose-free option was lacking in variety and although cheaper it seemed rather a lot for a cake stand of fruit.

This was by far the highlight of our day!! Took a chance on this place based on the reviews and found this to be a hidden gem! We didn’t have a reservation but, we got lucky and got in. They have you select your tea via scent bottles and cute little cards that describe each tea. The teapots come out with a paper crown on them and the sugar cubes are in an old-fashioned ballerina jewelry box…so cute. The tea sandwiches and delectables come out on a tri-tower that is decorated so whimsical it makes you giggle with delight.  Take your time as they certainly want you to relax and enjoy everything. The surroundings are serene and peaceful with a water fountain and luscious plants. This was such a magical experience that I can’t wait to go back again someday.
